Seismic engineering · Venezuela

Early warning.Automated response.

Proposed nationwide private earthquake and tsunami early warning network. Engineering and support in Venezuela.

Seismic sequence

From signal to response

  1. 01

    Seismic event

An earthquake starts at a geographical location. Seismic waves begin to propagate in all directions.

  2. 02

    Detection and analysis

The distributed seismic monitoring network detects the onset of the event and analyses records to estimate its characteristics.

  3. 03

    Processing and alert

The Xancura platform processes network data and generates site-specific alerts with estimated local intensity and arrival time.

  4. 04

    Notification and action

The signal can activate visual and audible warnings for people and automatic actions previously configured for the facility.

Local intensity and arrival time are estimates. Available warning time varies with the user’s distance from the epicentre, geology, network coverage, processing and connectivity; it may be insufficient or zero.

What we do

Engineering for your site

We assess the site and define the alert devices you need: visual, audible, radio transmission or automatic action. Scope and integrations are documented in the technical proposal.

  • Automation

Integration with PLC, SCADA or BMS systems according to the project.

  • Local support

    Installation and maintenance in Venezuela.

The network

A proposed nationwide network

The design proposes a private seismic monitoring network strategically distributed nationwide and connected through redundant channels. Available coverage must be confirmed for each project.

  • Alert devices with redundant channels according to configuration. Alertnano includes an external UPS in the bundle or as specified in the technical proposal.

Strategic partnership

Sismotech and Xancura

  • Sismotech

Engineering, installation and support in Venezuela.

  • Xancura

Detection and early warning algorithms, sensors and alert devices. Earthquake and tsunami scope is validated for each project.

Architecture

Detect. Alert. Act.

The network monitors the event; the platform estimates its effects at each location and sends the alert to activate the configured protocol.

The signal path

Available warning time varies with the user’s distance from the epicentre, geology, coverage, processing and connectivity.

  1. 01

    Detect

The distributed seismic monitoring network detects the onset of an earthquake.

  2. 02

    Alert

The platform processes the data and sends each location an alert with estimated local intensity and arrival time.

  3. 03

    Act

Devices activate warnings and preconfigured actions to support the protection of people, equipment and operational continuity.

Continuity

Technical support in Venezuela

  • Installation and commissioning

    Mounting, configuration and initial verification.

  • Preventive maintenance

According to the agreed maintenance plan.

  • Alert simulations

Verification of the automation chain and personnel response through drills.
